Re: AeroMadrid in Spain

Hi,

I studied in Aeromadrid Fto nearly 3 years ago. Good instruction, nice planes and I did everything on time. It used to be a referal in Spain as Fto.
I think that things have changed a little bit since I left and rumours said that the owner is trying to sell the Fto, that they are going to bankrupt ,...
Now, American Flyers, also in LECU is going better and a strong group ( www.gestair.es ) is behind it.

This is my opinion. Good luck.

Aeromadrid do have a very good reputation in Spain as one of the major FTOs. I have never trained with them though.

Re: AeroMadrid in Spain

Aeromadrid !!

Aeromadrid is the biggest FTO in Spain, it's an excellent school in everyway,

The Aircraft, Sims. Instructors and Theory Ground School are all excellent.

The school run two concurrent integrated courses one in Spanish and the other in English. The international course is attended by students from all over the world many countries have their own Aeromadrid agents so the cost of the integrated course can vary depending on the agency agreement.

I understand that all students who have attended the International course are now employed in RHS .

The school operates out of Cuatro Vientos in Madrid, its really a military airfield with GA on one side and military on the other, instrument training is normally conducted at other airfields as C.V. is not equiped.

The cost of the International Ab-initio integrated course including accommodation is circa €80 K.

The MCC is conducted on the level 4 Airbus 320 Sim. some would say "big deal" ...

the web site is www.aeromadrid.com

Re: AeroMadrid in Spain

Hi,

Cliste, RHS of a car you probably mean. Cause the English course guys just hardly finished.

I was in the first English course. I finished december 2004, I am now flying A319s for easyjet. One classmate is about to start on the A320 in the ME. The other 2 classmates (we were 4 in total) are still on the ground as we speak, one of them might be flying regionals now though.

Of all the English course guys who finished after us, no one has found a job yet! Which is not very surprising looking at when they actually finished, all during 2005. I am in touch with most of them, and they are very active guys with regards to applications and sending CVs. So they'll be allright.

I have never regretted once having gone to AeroMadrid. Excellent school and facilities! Experienced instructors (both ground and flight). I liked the flexibility and laidbackness a lot, without losing professionalism.

The package is standard +. You get lots of simulator tuition on top of the standard JAR-FCL syllabus for integrated ATPL. Like Beech 1900c MCC, Beech 200 MCC, A320 MCC. All of these in the standard package. I got like 140 hours simulator time which really made a difference during aptitude tests later on when applying to airlines. In my opinion AeroMadrid is a great school very much unknown and underestimated by many. Probably due to the bad marketing. They could rename all of the standard extra courses you get and use fancy names as most schools like to do nowadays. They choose to don't however.

AeroMadrid never promised us anything beyond what they could do for us. They always kept their promise and I am one happy customer.

I had a very enjoyable time there and could recommend it to anyone. Madrid is a great place!

Training here at Aeromadrid as we speak, on the groundschool. As previous posts say, very good school, very profesional and laid back at the same time. (come to think of it, so is the whole of spain!)

Re: AeroMadrid in Spain

I fully agree with Pindakaas. I was in the second English course and I would easily recommend AeroMadrid (now AeroMadrid/Europe Aviation Training). If they had a more aggressive marketing strategy they would probably be a reference in terms of JAR training. The amount of MCC time (around 100hrs sim) is probably the most outstanding feature in their integrated package.
And concerning what Nopoal mentioned... it's actually the other way around! American Flyers (now European Flyers) seems to be struggling for the last year or so, whilst AeroMadrid has increased their market share to about 25% of the spanish market.
