Hi folks,

It's a while since I've posted here but here goes. I'm wondering if anyone could comment on the oldest topic on this board integrated v modular.

I bring this up because haven always been a firm believer of the modular route been as good as the integrated while you save a few quid in the process. But, referring to that article on BA looking to hire again I noticed that they would be hiring only Integrated from approved schools. Also when talking to a CityJet pilot he reckoned that only few students were accepted from the modular route and that integrated students were much preferred.

I've a feeling that the CityJet guy might just be pissed that he spent so much cash and can understand it from BA to a certain extent so what's the story?

I really don't think it matters unless you're itching to get straight into a major and even then you're gonna need a ton of luck on top. Going integrated purely because you think it'll help you get a job is not a good enough reason. Pick a school or route that suits you personally and keep your eye on your budget.

Might as well go modular for all the hassles.

From my limited observation, if you hope to go directly airline, then integrated, if you expect to have to go GA, airtaxi route first then Modular, just an opinion.

Ive spoken to Airbus Fleet/Training Managers about this one and received conflicting views.
The overall opinion however is that C.V's from pilots who have been successful in completing 0 to CPL-IR MCC etc course at an airline approved school are likely to get the first phone calls for interview, pending there are no C.V's in the pile with 300 hours on type.

Cheers

So, which are these approved schools? It seems there's loads of integrated courses around.
