CAA cheating?
seem some guys cheat at the CAA exams by going out to restroom (cranfield????) . how is that possible?.At gatwick, you had to pie in your pant if you wanted to be graded!
So please, go to restroom before each exam sessions. If you can not hold for 2-3 hours, how do you do when you fly?
or bring your bottle in class!

It's probably those that cheat and those that care too much about those cheating that struggle the most to find a flying job.
I dislike the fact that people are cheating as much as you do. What I do like is that we still don't have this culture of pointing fingers and that the sound judgement of a pilot can be trusted.

I just hope that anyone who does trhink they can cheat at the exams does not need to go to the toilet at 30000 ft, because he does not know what to do. Chances are that when that happens he will probably do it in his pants anyway. Its not worth it. You cant cheat or crib when it is for real.

I don't promote this cheating, but live and let live. C'mon I think we all know, be it school exams or caa exams, everyone is going to do WHATEVER it takes to get as far as they can.
Just concentrate on doing well in your own exam, and if you are, you won't notice others 'cheating'.
Thats what the invidulators are there for, as let them do their job and u do yours.
Again, I reiterate, I do NOT promote cheating, but a lot of people in everyday life do so to 'get ahead'. Some do, some don't.
And as far as cheating when in the air, I think these people will be weeded out if they can't fly, regardless of whether they cheat in their exams or not. I don't believe for a second that the exams will save you when you're up there. The same way as with the driving theory test won't save you a$$ when you're driving on the road.
I know many will be out to bash me, but I think everyone within themselves knows its the truth.

One must be really dumb
To try and cheat on these exams. Do they not know that if they do get caught cheating they will forever be banned from taking exams?
It's a much too high price to pay. With almost huge amount feedback available everywhere, why would you have to resort to this method?
Again, extremely stupid.

Joking aside, I totally agree with your point and I was once in an exam when someone was caught cheating . The invigilator approached him and warned that if he was seen copying again he would be moved to the back of the room.
Now I am sorry but doesn't that make a mockery of the whole system? Some of us work ou bol
s off to make the grade and others sit next to us. In an ideal world it would be nice to think that these 'plagurists' will get weeded out but the reality (and I shudder at the thought) is that in 2 years they will probably have 200 people in the back seat and will not have a rudimentary knowledge of how an aircraft works.

People who cheat at ATPL level, will never pass a type rating course. So don't worry, they're kidding themselves, and will never
have 200 people in the back seat and will not have a rudimentary knowledge of how an aircraft works.

I've also in the past taught no-hopers from all countries. Some people have the aptitude and some don't, but they try, and then some cheat, they will be found out at some time.
Please let's not increase the world's Paranoia about "A-Rabs" any more. There's good and bad in all cultures.

All I know is (and I have this straight from the horses mouth. I am not speculating) that the culture amongst students from Kuwait Airlines is to pass, no matter how it is achieved. The JAR exams are not considered tests, more a hurdle to get past. So please do not think I am being racist, far from it. If cheating wasn't so obviously easy maybe they would have a diferent view on it.
I am however making a point about the CAA invigilators. They seem to think they are mere observers, when they should actually be policing those taking the exam. I wonder if CCTV may be the answer?

Don't agree with cheaters, but DO NOT assume that everyone who does go to the toilet during an exam is cheating. Nerves make people need the loo and having drunk lots of tea or coffee before the exam will get to them half-way through.
And being able to hold your bladder for 2-3 hours is not a requirement to be a pilot. If you have sectors that long, you'll be up and about stretching your legs and taking physiological breaks, what with the amount of water you should be drinking on a flight that long!

Some of my favourite cheating stories come from the Prestwick test center.
There was allegedly a group of middle eastern students who all wore the same T-Shirts with arabic writing on the back, story goes that they changed their shirts between each exam - guess what the text was?
Another story was about a French or German student who managed to rebuild the standard calculator that used to be issued in the CAA exams into a programmable one with a whole bundle of information stored. The pipe smoking, Star Trek Admiral became suspicious when the candidate was using his calculator an awful lot.
What I could never understand was, anyone who was smart enough to come with this sort of solution to a problem, shouldn't have needed to cheat
