I think the arrangement with Jeppesen has been terminated. I understand that Oxford now distribute their books through Transair. Jeppesen may still have some old stock.

Gen Nav (Book 10) has been virtually re-written from square one. Flight Planning has a new chapter on Fuel Policy and and a lot of editorial tidying up.
Most of the other books have not undergone major re-writes, but the opportunity has been taken to incorporate corrections where errors have been pointed out to us.
They look prettier, though.

hi everybody,
So if i understand, Oxford and Jeppesen don't work together anymore?
Oxford has made their own Books and Jeppesen has released a brand niew in April 2005 too?
The Oxford Books, when were their made, i mean, their was the edition Jeppesen and Oxford together. And the niew Oxford edition, when was it released?
Because i'm hesitating between buying the New Jeppesen one's or the new Oxford on's. Or was the old edition Jeppensen Oxford better?
So if you could help me, to guide my choice.

Oxford & Jepp used to have a deal where Jepp printed and distributed Oxfords manuals. They fell out. Oxford now distribute their manuals through Transair.
Jeppesen bought the copyright of Air Atlantique's / Pooley's manuals (its a bit confused).
Both sets of manuals are in book format rather than loose leaf. I can't guide your choice, I'm afraid, I've only had a quick look through them, but they seemed very comparable.

Ok, first of al thank you for your answer, because it's not easy all that staf héhé
Then the new Oxford Edition is nearly similar of the old edition when Oxford worked with jeppesen in Folders?
The new Oxford edition's in Books, but it's not in Hard boud? it's in book but the book is flexible and in A4form no?
Because the new Jeppesen Edition is brand new so if somebody has had a look at it I'm interested in his ideas of the books
And i suppose these books are on top for the moment for an ATPL Theory course? Or is there a better one?
because before buying one, i prefer to ask information, because it's so expensive
Thanks you

I don't think there is much to choose between ATPL manuals provided you go to one of the better known schools. Why do you need to buy them separately, though? Any decent FTO will provide you with all the relevant manuals when you do your ATPL theory course, if they don't, then go somewhere else. Many of the schools on the continent used to use the old Oxford books, I don't know what the current situation is.

Our FTO school provided us the NORDIAN books, but they aren't easy to undestand and they're erros in it. So with friends of the classes we'll buy others books, because i know somebody who had the old oxford edition, when it was the folders with Jeppesen, and he's satisfied. But here the Nordian're too short on certain chapters and the explanation isn't that good.
So that's the reason
So i've heard The Oxford new edition 2004 and the new series of Jeppesen were really good, and i saw a topic in this forum, so i wanted to see if the New edition of Owford where approwimately the same than the old Oxford Jeppesen collection in Folders?
and also to know if somebody here've seen them and look trough them
All the Best

As Alex points out, most of the books will probably be comparable. Only had chance to see Bristol's and old oxford-very similar really. Afterall it's the same course they are teaching. What seems to me to matter more is the quality of the actual teaching you recieve, and if you do have any problems if the instructors are on hand to give you help when you need it.
Hope this helps

Ok, yeah that's right, the teaching is the most important, but i just wanted to ask some information.
Because i've classe every evening and when i've to study in my book after, it's not so easy to read the NORDIAN.
So i still've to choose another course becaue, i've seen quite a few mistakes in The Nordian edition. And i've heard the Old Oxford edition was very easy to understand So i just want an new edition of the JAA ATPL Books and easy to understand.
Because the New JAA ATPL of Jeppesen and Fliaght atlantic training is brand new so not easy to choose.
But if somebody 've see or heard something
Anyway thanks you very much for your help, that's very kind of you
Fairwell guys
