Question Thermal Anti-ice

does anyone know where on a bypass jet engine where thermal anti ice is used? i have AGK one tues and was one of the questions apparently.

Thermal anti ice is used on the engine cowl. It is used on the lip.
The older model 737's also had thermal anti ice on the spinner too.

On the -200 aircraft the thing you are refering to is not a spinner it is fixed.

The reason for the TAI is the nose bullet contains the forward probe for the EPR indication system.

If this probe becomes blocked the EPR (engine power) will over read , this was a contributry factor in the accident in Washington some years back when a 737-200 hit a bridge near Washington National airport.
