MECR before CPL.

hiya,
Got my Class 1 medical through today (put a smile on my face until I walked into my first lecture, anyway!) so I guess its time to start flying instead of thinking about it! Just a quick question. Why do most people do MECR after CPL? Why can't I wait until I have about 140 hours, then do a MECR to complete my hour building, THEN do my CPL?

Also, what do you all think of the 100 hourbuilding course at NAC?
Cheers
Richard

You can - it's always been a good idea (but would advise [from a financial point of view] that you have some time on a single engine complex first - maybe an Arrow, or similar).

As an alternative you can do a 28 hour CPL that includes the MECR. See LASORS.

Thanks.
HWD, can you start the combined MECR/CPL with less than 150 hours if the MECR is included then? I'll take a look at LASORS.
Thanks
