Fair enough if I'd had one, but I was flying with an injected engine.

Anyway if you only check carb heat every ten minutes, that's once at each coast, and anyway the fog was a mile below me.

A channel rating 'orse pucky'.

You can see LFAT from 4000ft overhead Lydd on a sunny day.

Always freaks me out when I hear the "I've been flying ten years now and with 400hours think it may be time to "risk" the Channel" - just don't see what the fuss is about.

Regularly fly my single 200 miles from the nearest land - we all got to die sometime;)

What is all this lotss of hours stuff.

Flew my SEP back from the US to Barbados six months ago, less than 200hrs total time no solo in three years, 1hr on my BFP and 2 hours dual to remind myself what the switches did when I collected the plane - 1500 miles some 500 miles legs 99% over the ocean and no Air Sea rescue - I lead a generally boring risk free life, what's the point of hobbies if there is no chance of death or injury?
