Jay Sata, right leg looks worse, but I suspect this is long term as I seem to remember, when his Class 2 medical was renewed after the Psychiatric incident the doctor advised him to get his leg sorted.
Moderator this is all in the public domain on his website. As for seeking legal advice, I'm really not sure what a Kenyan lawyer can do for a matter in the English Court. Despite I thought Maurice hated lawyers. As for Maurice's mental state, I continue to have concerns, although you can't but admire his determination. |
I certainly admire his determination, but at times it seems to develop into a fixation.
With Maurice it looks like he isn't happy unless he's fighting someone or something. Most of us content ourselves fighting one battle at a time, but that isn't his way, as far as I can see. |

Regards lawyers, I would not take his comments to literally.
He is linked to some Courts and those he is in dispute with by email and is constantly served with updated Court Orders or letters from the other sides lawyers of what he should do next. It is in the legal papers from the other sides lawyers/officials etc that they follow his postings closely. So Maurice is just making a public statement to those watching in the UK with whom he is in dispute that he is not running away from his cases/that fight etc. |

Love to know where his money is coming from. Surely would be cheaper to get another Cub and ship it out to Kenya.
If he thinks he can get it repaired and ready for flight to get to Zim by the 31st, he is being very ambitious, not to say deluded. |

He had nearly a full page write up in the Daily Mail. I don't know what he was paid for that but maybe enough to get parts and an engineer flown out to fix the aircraft?
I can understand his desire to complete the trip in that aircraft as he started in the aircraft and probably has a sentimental attachment to it I just hope he invests in a reliable GPS unit gets himself rested and sorted in the period it takes to restore the aircraft and determines to take a different approach to the next legs |
Newspapers such as the Daily Mail pay nothing for stories such as this despite the myth they have fat check-books.
The recent Daily Mail feature was a mix of news agency copy and material in the public domain? Maurice will not get far on hopes of money from the newspapers to fund his adventure. He has published a shopping list on Facebook. STOLEN equipment from the poor old cub, downed in South Sudan, leaves Maurice with a long shopping list to beg, borrrrow, prefeably buy, 2nd hand or new ...... 1. hand held radio 2. emergency beacon 3. ferry tanks 4. petrol tubing/ conections and out board primer pump 5. transponder stubby aerial/vhf aerial 6. 2x mobility dry cell 12v batteries 7.emergency led nav lights 8.c 90 continental engine or parts there of (may be ok) 9 cub prop (from UK hoped) 10. undercarriage leg/ piece of cabane ( from UK hoped) 11. Galaxy mobile phone 12. 1st Aid kit 13. fuses/electrical wire 14.small venturi 15.Cub J3L4 part of engine cowlings 16. Wing oot fairings or parts there of 17.grey duct tape 18.Don's equivalent of 'get dents out of leading edges' kit! 19. And any old Garmin GPS, I am told, is all the rage these days my new Kenya number is: +254713600723 Maurice is currently shacked up by kind invitation of the second oldest flying club in the world, Aero Club of East Africa. Don, I am with a ' learn yourself Swaheli book in one 100 easy moves.....for my jaunt, after urgent re build down from 'Twiggy's front garden, in Loki to Vic Falls. May go back to Narus on a borrowed motor bike to request the above aircraft parts back as only the watch of my dash and batteries, under my seat are of any use to the poor stricken people...ALSo, very quiet, it would appear, is the 'adoption' of the school a passing aircraft wing could have flattened! If you have to be stranded in Africa the Aero Club of East Africa would be one of the better places to choose. Tusker available, what more can you want...??? Well, I guess in Maurice's case a serviceable Piper Cub.....!!!

I have two threads running and it is interesting to compare Kirk and his adventures to the synthetic flying of the "Aviatrix".
Given a choice of viewing Maurice would come out tops. If I was a gambler I would put money on him making Cape Town. As someone who hates litigation and social problems I have to confess he is not on my New Year wish list. However the old boy deserves respect for his flying exploits in a Cub. He has pushed that airframe way beyond its design. It would not be my choice for long distance flying. For that alone he deserves an award from both the Air League and the LAA. |
