How do you post these pictures? I was going to add a couple of my plane but I couldn't make it work. I click on the "picture" button then add the URL for Flickr between the brackets, but nothing appears. Does Pprune refuse to work with Flickr?

To link from Flickr, click the Share button, then choose 'Grab the HTML/BBCode'. Make sure the BBCode radio button is selected. Copy the code and paste it straight into PPRuNe:-

Thank you!

Here's a couple of views of/from my favourite Pitts, N15TA. Not mine but I often fly it.

In a group owning one, started learning on the other. Unfortunately the Bolkow isn't in the air at the moment :(. Not my pic so apologise for the size.

Now that beats camping in the UK!!

referring back a page or two, re- distress-signified by flying a flag inverted.

Look closely at a Union Flag (aka Union Jack) you will observe that the white diagonals are assymetricaly displaced wrt the red "X" (but it does help if you can remember if the broader white should be above or below! :O

Crash one 30th Jul 2012 16:29

Being ex RN I can't remember :O I think the wide white is up?

India Four Two 31st Jul 2012 06:43

Crash one,

If you had been a Boy Scout, you would have remembered! ;)

The wide white stripe is uppermost near the hoist and lowermost near the fly.

I've always thought it would be an exercise in futility to fly it upside down and expect to be rescued. Now, with a Red Ensign (or White in Crash one's case), you might stand a better chance.

cockney steve 31st Jul 2012 11:53

It all comes back now!

Imagine the white "X" is solid , with the red one superimposed, -rotate the white one slightly clockwise (flagstaff to the left0 and there you have it1 wide white lower at the pole and higher at the free -end.

now I just have to remember that it's the white that is rotated and not the red :}

You don't need TCAS on that one :E

englishal 31st Jul 2012 16:29

That is for sure. If people don't see us coming, then they really should have their medical pulled :D

Billredshoes 31st Jul 2012 16:50

Hi I will try to make it smaller but it is a VERY BIG Biplane!

My normal mount, the Archer, before it was repainted.

Sometimes though, I have the privilege of getting to fly this

Or flying in the Archer, whilst accompanying these ...

Boy, I love this thread!
90% of all discussions on here are about rules and regulation while its nice just to talk and SEE aircraft!

Not the best quality but a nice image of me trying to put her down smoothly the other day:
