Given that I'm usually in the driving seat of my machine, there aren't many photo's of it on the wing. However, here's a link to a photo that I found on the web of us departing "Flying Legends 2011" just after "Big Beautiful Doll" bit the dust....

Hope this link works - first attempt at a hosting site:\

Hope this link works
Yes, it worked - great plane! Though might the web link have mirrored the image?

maxred 15th Oct 2011 15:47

Thanks DAR. Sorry, 'mirrored the image???? Not sure I understand

IO540 15th Oct 2011 15:52

I am not sure it is mirrored. I can't read the writing but the prop blades look correct for a prop which rotates CW when viewed from the cockpit.

maxred 15th Oct 2011 15:55

IO-Understand now. No the image is correct, no mirror effect.

no mirror effect.
Is the US flag on the main wheel door the right way around?

maxred 15th Oct 2011 18:24

Well spotted. :ok:

Actually they were delivered like that, and on application, it was realised one on correctly, the other round the wrong way. Since been removed incidently.

Funnily enough, I could never figure why they came like that. Was in a set of other decals (pack) purchased from Performance Aero.:uhoh:

Since been removed incidently
Excellent! In other times, displaying insignia upside down or backward on an aircraft was a secret display that the aircraft was in enemy type trouble, and should be intercepted. I just want to make sure you're safe!

maxred 15th Oct 2011 19:29

So that's what that ME109 over Shoreditch who intercepted me was doing:rolleyes:

I actually called them, (PF), and attempted to explain the problem, you can imagine the conversation, then decided it was a bad batch, and removed the offending article. It was either that or order another batch to get two correct ones:eek:

Beautiful. Great shots

upside down Union Jack
Perhaps the Union Jack is symmetrical both ways, and roundels only round, because the UK military fliers were so self confident that they would never need to send secret signals for assistance?

Pilot DAR 16th Oct 2011 02:57

Oh, okay. The RAF will probably still be out of luck, having me figure out that one of their aircraft has been hijacked, by displaying their flag the wrong way 'round....

Why not drag this thread back up front a bit?

My baby, last week……at the start of one of my classes……..while still tweaking the aircraft a bit as well--> hence the missing spinner.

This design is known for its wide cabin; yes you lose a bit in cruise--> but it´s very comfy inside! "It´s not the destination, it´s the trip getting there" as they say……..

I'm guessing that your daughter's friends don't play "my dad is cooler than your dad" any more?
