SEP revalidation application

I'm sorry for this boring old question but I couldn't find the answer in other threads.

My SEP revalidation is due soon. I've done my 12 hours and just trying to figure out how to apply after I've done my instructor flight.
The CAA website seems to suggest that the instructor needs to email an SRG1157 (or SRG1107) to [email protected]
https://www.caa.co.uk/general-aviati...on-rating-sep/

But looking my old emails seems to suggest that last time I did it by submitting SRG3108 through an online portal. But this website seems to suggest that it's only for LAPL:
https://www.caa.co.uk/our-work/publi...forms/srg3108/

So now I'm confused. I don't want to do something that contradicts CAA advice. Why is something so simple have to be so complicated!

With no explanation or justification, CAA withdrew the online form last year. The lack of explanation has confused many, of whom you are just the latest.

So yes, you need to email the completed form to CAA. It's daft, but it's what it is.

I've used the 1157 for many years.

The CAA website seems to suggest that the instructor needs to email an SRG1157
If revalidating via experience (including your one hour coaching flight) your instructor should email the 1157 to the CAA after you've signed it. Of course, you can agree on who does it but the bottom line is that it's the instructor's responsibility to send it. It's yours to check it's been done.

I renewed my licence last month and followed that process.

Thanks all for the replies.

One last question around this. Looking at the SRG1157 form, it seems that this need to be filled in by an examiner. I can see fields:
  • Examiner's Name
  • Examiner's Number
  • Examiner's Signature
I thought that it's enough to have an hour of instruction rather than an exam. Does this now need to be done with an examiner?

WTF CAA! Why are they giving me me conflicting information.

For Examiner, read Instructor. The Instructor that flies your “1 hour” should sign it, unless he doesn’t have FCL 945 privileges, in which case you will need an Examiner to complete it.

Thanks. Actually I just messaged and instructor at my school and he said that I should bring an SRG1107. The plot thickens!
I'm not sure if he has FCL 945 privileges. I would assume so given he's agreed to revalidate my rating.
