UK Off-Airfield Aviation
Are there any UK pilots who are interested into off-airfield aviation?
Because of the lack of back country, it's not an easy form of aviation in the UK - however I believe interest is starting to build.

I think the main problem is that every inch of the UK belongs to someone. Wherever you wish to land you need the permission of the owner or custodian. Some waterways are common property and I think some land areas in Scotland, but the terrain would probably not support aviation activities.
Sadly that's why we are mostly limited to formal airfields or farm strips.

In principle, yes. I've done a bit of flying off beaches and large farmers fields in the UK (and one golf course, that was firmly precautionary). Much, but not all of that in microlights.
But, as BB says, it's hard to do by and large. Beach landings are your main option,

I doubt any land in Scotland is "common property". Community owned estates are not. You would still need the landowner's permission.The "Right to Roam" only applies to walking, (and pedal cycles maybe?) but not vehicles.
