Angry UK FCL PPL SEP to EASA FCL PPL SEP

Ladies & Gentlemen

So I missed the cut-off point of 31st December for a SOLI transfer of my ( Third World Country ) UK FCL PPL to an EASA license in France - entirely my fault !

I have made an application to the DGAC in France for a FCL PPL SEP ( Land ) A, and I'm up against the bureaucracy that France has to offer - at present the authorities are stating that I need to re-sit a Skills Test / Theory Test in French which is just not possible for me.

My initial UK JAR License was first issued in 2002 and then upgraded to an EASA License - I've re-validated the license every two years however my license is now a UK FCL PPL and I'm not permitted to fly EASA Registered aircraft here in France.

So whilst the French Authorities were happy to accept my qualifications / experience and re-validation up to 31st December 2020 with an EASA License, it appears that the same qualifications / experience amounts to very little now that the UK has left the EU.

My question therefore relates to any other UK PPL Holder living in France, have you made an application to DGAC / what response have you had and has anyone been able to circumnavigate the system and obtain a French SEP PPL.

Cheers

Brian

Welcome to BREXIT Britain! Where any opportunity to screw you over is heartily embraced!

have you though about using a different country than France? Apparently Malta is the place to go at the moment.

Talk to Roger Sprague at Aeroclub du Limousin, he can provide a solution in English either for a French or Malteses licence.
