Belgium: GenDec required for extra-Schengen flights
Not that I am proud of it, but y'all had better be warned: I received mail today, via my aeroclub, to the effect that, for flights between Belgium and any non-Schengen country,
1) only the aerodromes EBAW / EBBR / EBCI / EBKT / EBLG / EBOS can be the point of entry/exit
2) filing a "General Declaration" document is mandatory - as I read it, for arrival and again for departure.
Fazit: better stop in France if crossing the Channel. And if one still decides otherwise, here's a convenient place for filing the GenDec document: www.generaldeclaration.be
Most of this must be in the AIP too, somewhere in GEN1.2

Do they not adopt the NL system, were the GenDec ist automatically generated when you file the UK-GAR (which you have to do anyways)?
The Netherlands tried similar a while ago and failed enforcement, btw.
And just to be over precise - you had to have a GenDec at any GA flight in all ICAO countries since the old 1949 days of ICAO Chicago, but todays interpretation is to have a blank form and fill it upon request of an official authority. I know, many ignore or want to forget, but the requirement for a GenDec ist stone age old.

I don't think it's optional (!), and I've already complained that the inability to save data means that it takes an age every time (no saved aircraft, pilots or pax)…
Got an immediate and understanding reply, but 'not yet, we don't have the resources to pay someone to do it'...
