Private strips Lincolnshire
I'm based in Lincolnshire near Mablethorpe and am looking for a private strip to fly an Auster out of. N Coates and Strubby North have waiting lists and Wickenby is the best part of an hour each way. Does anyone have any leads to private strips in the area? N Reston and Louth I know about but I need hangarage as she's fabric. I'm on Strubby South at the moment but the hangar has no doors and the wind does whistle up the Khyber pass at times!
Thanks guys
Thanks guys
Perhaps some inspiration at openstreetmap ? Fairly up to date, usually, but farm strips come and go, they're not easy to keep track of.
edited to add: and I just added the Cadwell Park one mentioned below. Like all farm strips, one should make very sure of its status of activity before flying in.

Hi bigflyingrob,
Not sure if this helps. I'm an expat Louth boy flying Rotary in Canada. When I last flew around the Wolds 1990 probably, I owned a Microlight and hangared and flew from Frank Grants farm at Cadwell Park. I know Frank passed away quite a few tears ago and I do believe his son Peter took over. I don't think his son flew, but they maybe keep the grass strip open. Was quite a fair sized hangar, Frank had a 182. Maybe worth a call. I'll make ask me old Mum next time we talk. She was good friends with them and will know if hangar is still operational.......

Hi bigflyingrob
There`s a strip at Mavis Enderby, that already houses 4 Auster`s, might be worth giving them a call if it`s not to far for you to travel too.
