Question Farm Strips in Herts

I have Cessna 150 based at Elstree and would very much like to base it on a farm strip.Having been working on a few farm strips of late I like the less controled feel to them and I might even be able to keep my aircraft under cover.
Is there any one who can tell me of any farm strips in the herts area I would be most greatful.
Cheers all,

Cool try these

Copied these from a microlight site so some maybe to short.
Also I know these is a big strip with a hangar and a number of
Aircraft parked up just East of the A10 at High Cross.
But have no contact details.
Have a look on www.multimap.com then select aerial views.

146-fixer try Bill Bowker at Rush Green. There's no space in the hangar unless somebody's moved out in the 2 weeks I've been away. Bill was trying to reduce the number of aircraft parked outside but there is certainly the space there for a 150. I've no idea what the charge for outside parking but the hangarage is a lot more reasonable than the quotes I had from people closer to the M25 The phone number is in Pooleys

It's under the approach to LTN (we have an agreement with LTN so they are used to little aeroplanes popping up on their radar), between LTN and Stevenage and convenient for the A1M. 550m of grass, 100LL and there's M3 maintenance there. Altogether a friendly informal airfield and we get excellent service from LTN who usually expedite entries and departures into/out of the zone. It'll be a relief from the torturous circuits / stroppy radio that I've heard Elstree possess.

A bit of lateral thinking - North Weald is not a farm strip, but it is a relaxed/no bull!!!! place and easily accessible from the M25/M11.

Outside parking is circa £130 per month and avgas is 80p per litre. Good maintenance is available on site.

Alan Crouchman is the contact on 01992 524510.

We have our little Pup based there and find that we are treated well.
