A GOLD STAR FOR THE CAA!

We just had a student submit his initial PPL application. It was turned around in one day and he didn't even visit the desk!

Credit and thanks where it's due - well done to the CAA Licensing Department at Gatwick.

Sounds like the usual person is on holiday.

Totally different to the shambles I'm experiencing at the moment. Glad to hear they can get it right for some!

It's just possible that they saw a log book with no less than 24 other pieces of papyrus, looked for a HOT signature - found one - and assumed all was correct................

I'm joking of course.............

What's the opposite of a gold star?

This actually make me quite cross - I've had my CPL application in for six weeks and they haven't even looked at it! I called them to confirm that I hadn't done anything silly and they told me everything was fine and they aim to process within 30(!) working days.

I would have hoped that professional licences would have at least a little higher priority as people's livelihood could depend on having a licence. Sure, the checking is a little more complex, but most people have comprehensive training records these days so I don't understand this HUGE disparity!
