Where can I meet pilots in london to fly with?
I got my PPL more than 6 months ago, but haven't been up since, largely due to the cost of hiring.
I want to meet other pilots young or old to go flying with, but have no idea where to start?!
Any suggestions?
If it helps, I am based in south london, so Biggin Hill is probably best bet for airport

I would chose a site that has a lot of GA activity. White Waltham, North Weald, there are others.
Without appearing awkwardly freaky, hang around, get to know people, and look to join the club. There are always people, Billy no mates, who have a spare seat, and enjoy taking guys up flying. Share the fuel cost, buy whoever takes you up lunch etc.
Like everything, you have got to make it happen. It won't come to you, but you knew that..

I would be happy to 'go flying' even if this is as a PAX or you need someone to sit beside you for a confidence builder.
I trained on a C-152 so this would be ideal as we can both fly a leg and share the costs.
Biggin is not too bad over the A13.. sky high landing fees though! £23 + vat!
PM if you are interested.

Unless you trained in South Africa, the only country I can think of where the C152 requires a type rating, you can share the flying on any SEP, regardless of what you trained on - so long as you're insured to fly the aeroplane under whatever arrangements the owner has in place.

I was just thinking in terms of the which plane we would be able to fly a leg on without differences training.. to start with.
I haven't flown a PA28 for example and would require differences training on any other SEP.
Not a biggie just depends who/which airfield we choose.. am sure there are plenty of instructors to provide the service.

@thing
I highly admire your username sir
Unfortunately I learned in Inverness. It's a cracking place but logistically inconvenient considering I live in london

Not that I have been there but london transport flying club at fairoaks. Have a look at their website
Think would be what you are looking for as do regular trips, pairing more with less experienced pilots if needed, club flying etc etc easy enough from s. London and cheaper than say the hills of biggin or red
