Light aircraft down in Scotland

Two people are being treated in hospital after their light aircraft crashed in South Ayrshire.

The small plane, which took off from the Isle of Bute, was flying to Maybole and appears to have come down near a private landing strip.

A Police Scotland spokesman said emergency services were at the scene.

Police said the aircraft came down on a stretch of single track road. The occupants were described as walking wounded

A locally based Zenair, both pilots escaped relatively unscathed but staying in hospital over night.
