Crash at Redhill?

This aircraft crashed at Redhill 28th August, one fatality. Not the same pilot, who left the group.

John R81, how can these two threads be knitted together? The sequence of events from the wing being taxied over a van to a year later fatal accident is all too suggestive.
It is our DUTY, when responsible for however harmless an incident may appear, to report it, record it, have a competent person inspect the damage.
The pilot who drove over a van with his wing and then took off ... it is hard to own up when you have done something stupid. I hope that if this fatality is linked to the previous owner's stupidity that he is ashamed and suffers.
We should all learn from this. I twice have had to own up to damaging an aircraft, and felt much better after confession and resolution and inspection that proved the damage inconsequential. Its not easy to confess. It has to be worse if you don't.

If you read the post I linked to I did not link the events other than to say 'same aircraft'. AAIB will determine the cause.

There's a picture of the wrecked aeroplane on the other thread. Both wings appear to be where they should be, relative to the fuselage.

yep but if one wing is bent and has a greater angle of attack than the other one or the washout is removed due bending it might have an affect to increase the likely hood of a stall/spin incident.
But............
We don't know and I am sure the relevant people will have a look to see if there was any evidence of damage from any previous incidents. I believe the previous incident was reported to the AAIB at the time.
Said pilot is more than likely pooing themselves just now because if it can be shown that they had damaged the plane in the previous incident and it was a factor in this incident they are now looking at a stretch for man slaughter.

So 26 in use, right wing stalled & spin developed at low level, leaving no time to recover? Hence the direction of the aircraft in the final photo (I ask as I drive helicopters, not fixed-wing).
Or .... tried to turn right to get back to airfield?
