Changing CAMO

We're in the process of changing CAMO. Our old one says they're obliged to notify who the new CAMO is.

Although not stated, Im presuming they mean the CAA.

Is this correct?

I don't see why, since the owner is responsible for maintenance and can delegate that to a CAMO so which CAMO is up to the owner. Moreover the owner doesn't have to use a CAMO.
