South Carolina Fingerprinting

Hi there,
Anyone out there know where I can get my fingerprints collected in South Carolina for the A.F.S.P/T.S.A. There is nothing on the NATACS website for South Carolina,thanks,
Al.

Ask your flight school for the best solution/address.

They most likely need to be involved anyway: If the PD cannot do electronic fingerprinting (as approved by the TSA), then an authorized person from the flight school has to accompany you to the PD, and he/she has to hold custody of the fingerprint documents, until they've been submitted in the post. You are not allowed to hold the documents yourself.

So organizing your own fingerprinting without involvement/advice of the flight school may be a waste of time.

It is all quite straight-forward. The PD will put the cards in the UPS envelope and ask UPS to pick it up or drop it in the UPS collection box.

You MUST submit fingerprints in accordance with the below instructions. THE FINGERPRINT COLLECTOR MUST REVIEW "INSTRUCTIONS TO FINGERPRINT COLLECTOR" WHICH FOLLOW THESE INSTRUCTIONS BEFORE COLLECTING YOUR FINGERPRINTS.

STEP 1. You must locate a TSA-approved fingerprint collection location. Go online to http://www.tsc-csc.com/printoffices/ or call the Transportation Security Clearinghouse at (703) 797-2556 with questions about the fingerprint collection process and TSA-approved locations.

STEP 2. YOU MUST CONTACT THE COLLECTION LOCATION BEFORE ARRIVING TO SUBMIT FINGERPRINTS AND:

a) Schedule an appointment;
b) Ask if you must supply your fingerprint cards (2 cards are required);
c) Ask if you must supply a pre-paid shipping envelope (traceable means only, such as FedEx, UPS Next Day, etc.);
d) Determine fingerprint collection fees apart from the AFSP application fee and accepted payment methods.

Your Flight Training Provider should have fingerprint cards for your convenience. If they need to request fingerprint cards, they can call the Transportation Security Clearinghouse at (703) 797-2556.

STEP 3. On the date of your appointment, you must bring the following items to the fingerprint collection location. IF YOU DO NOT BRING ALL OF THE FOLLOWING ITEMS, YOU WILL NOT BE PERMITTED TO SUBMIT FINGERPRINTS:

a) A printed copy of this email;
b) Your passport (if a non-resident alien), resident alien card, or U.S. driver's license (if resident alien);
c) If required by the fingerprint collection location, you must also bring 2 fingerprints cards and a pre-paid shipping envelope (traceable means only, such as FedEx, UPS Next Day, etc.)

STEP 4. The fingerprint collection location must submit your fingerprints to the Transportation Security Clearinghouse for fingerprint processing. YOU MAY NEVER BE IN POSSESSION OF YOUR FINGERPRINT CARDS AFTER BEING FINGERPRINTED. If anyone other than the fingerprint collector is ever in possession of the fingerprints, the fingerprints will be rejected by TSA.

STEP 5. When TSA receives your fingerprints, AFSP will send an email notification to you and your Flight Training Provider. If either party has not received this email notification within seven business (7) days of submitting fingerprints, please call the Transportation Security Clearinghouse for fingerprint processing at (703) 797-2556. When you call, make sure you say the fingerprints were submitted for the Alien Flight Student Program (AFSP) and have the specifics about the fingerprint submission (i.e. training request number, who took the prints, the date printed, where the prints were taken, tracking information, live-scan or ink-rolled, etc.).

If you require help with the AFSP process, please visit the Candidate Frequently Asked Questions page at www.flightschoolcandidates.gov/afsp_faq.htm.

If you need further assistance, please contact [email protected] or call (571) 227-4544.
