Grob G-115D: where to buy?
Hello!
I am looking for a G-115D, but it seems that the only two ones on planecheck.com are overprized.
Is anybody aware of any G-115D on sale?
Thanks!

Grob G-115D: where to buy?
Hello there, I don't actually have an answer to you, but I just came here to tell what a great plane that is, I've been doing my ATPL in a Grob115a and they are awesome. Good Luck

Thanks GLuis, your comment is motivating me further!
May I ask you where you got your training and how long ago? Maybe the facility may have one G-115 to sell...

I have my training in Lisbon, Portugal but I know that the school orders the aircraft from Germany, but they have one that was bought in the UK. Iīm not sure if the aircraft are bought from any indentity or if theyīre bought from a private owner. Anyway, I reckon If you look in Germany youīll have better luck. The first few Grobīs that came to the school, some of the instructors went there to get them, but lately, who ever sells the aircraft arranges a way to fly them over here. If your interested enough I can ask back at school where they bought their Grobīs and I could PM you or email you.
Oh and Iīm about 2/3 through my training, Iīll be transitioning to multi-engine soon
And let me tell that the Grob 115D has a great engine, itīs the same of the chipmunk, 180hp lycoming

The remaining Portuguese Chipmunks were converted to 0-360s in 1997.

Ok - so the Portuguese have 6 converted ones, and there are a couple more around with names such as "Supermunk" and "Aerostructures Sundowner" which have an O-360. Appologies. Its just not what I think of when I think of a Chippy!

@GLuis: thanks! Please check you PM mailbox.
@RTN11: I am not limiting the search to UK, I am based in France so coming to UK or anywhere else in Europe for me makes no too much difference...

RTN, there is a large number of G115 in UK - RAF and Navy are using more than 90 of them; they are "E" versions but they don't differ too much from the "D"s.
As far as I remember they are owned and maintained by VT Aerospace: Penguin you should contact the Company and ask if they have intention to get rid if any of their a/c. They have civilian markings, you don't even need to make a military to civilian conversion (maybe just remove the UHF...). Unfortunately I have no idea who exactly you should contact.

Zio Nick, indeed, but the OP is specifically looking for a D model.
Flying Pinguin, it doesn't matter where you look, there are only 6 D models in existence, 5 at Dundee, and one other in Europe. They made 7, but one is beyond repair.
Admittedly the E model isn't too different, so perhaps that's where you should be looking. The A model is vastly different, and will cost an awful lot more, but will be easily sourced as there are plenty about.

Just curious, but why are you so set on getting a Grob 115D? In France I'd go for the Cap 10B/C for touring and aerobatics.
Having the flown the D for about 45 hrs, I'd say they are far too expensive for what they offer. Handling is quite nice, but it's not very fast for 180HP and loud as well.
There is a D operated by Rygge Aeroclub in Norway as far as i know.
