200 hr PPL plus non Pilot friend took off on runway 22 for circuits in a PA38. At 70 ft AGL the aircraft was flown back down on to the runway suffering a very heavy impact and written off.

No known mechanical failure prior to impact. No injuries which IMHO says a great deal for the structure of the Aircraft cabin.

This was a totally different set of circumstances to the EFATO the previous week in a PA38 at Swansea.
