akaSylvia,

PM sent and awaiting with anticipation. Could do with a good read for New Year, and this sounds like the best offer yet.

Happy New Year

Thanks for that Peter. I do need an email address in order to send you the file. If you can PM me with that and also, let me know if you'd like .mobi for the Kindle, ePub for other readers or PDF, I'll send you a copy.

I'm running a bit behind so if you PM'd me today and haven't received it yet, I haven't forgotten you! I've just been offered a night out at my favorite Japanese noodle bar and I'm afraid PPRuNe just can't compete with that.

What! You'd rather go out and eat exotic Asian delights than sit in front of a dry computer screen responding to PMs and emails??!! Never heard the like. Sylvia, You Socialise Like A Woman.

Sylvia also sent me a copy and I devoured it in about an hour! So reminiscent of learning to fly back in the 80's when we females were pretty rare in aviation. Always worrying if you were keeping up with the (sometimes quite macho) guys... And even now as a 737 captain I still on occasion get ground staff in some countries talking to the 20something yr old male copilot instead of me - had to laugh about the guy in Almeria who went looking for the real pilot when Sylvia was doing her cross country solo!

I posted a link for the amazon ordering page to my fb page so hopefully some friends will buy a copy!

Thank you Sylvia

for sending me your book ( BTW: epub format displays perfectly on the iPad! )!
Read it in one go yesterday evening on the train. Very entertaining and informative. Like your instructors, I have made the experience that most female students take their training very seriouly and come much better prepared to their lessons than the boys!

Looking forward to reading more about your coming flying adventures in the Saratoga!

Gutes Neues Jahr,
Max

Happy New Year, all of you!

I think I've caught up now. If you have PM'd me and not received a copy, then I'm really sorry but can you PM me again with your email address? I can then check if it is one of the ones that bounced (I've had two returns from aol.com addresses) or simply resend. Also, a few people have discovered my email in their spam traps.

I have to clear my PM box (it's 95% full ) so I'm sorry to ask you to PM again but I'm not sure how else to check.

And thank you all so much for the kind comments. I've always been amazed at how great the PPRuNe community can be but now I'm overwhelmed!

Thank you and a Haooy New Year

Thanks so much, Sylvia. I thoroughly enjoyed your book, it reminded me of when I did my UK PPL, but in Portugal, many years ago

Best wishes for safe and happy flying in the New Year.

Mike

I BOUGHT your book for my Kindle - cost me 89p!!
Will read it on the 5 hour flight tomorrow!

That should keep you in noodles for a couple of weeks!

Happy New Year!

Having flown like a woman on more than one occasion, I thought I'd buy the book so you can retire on the proceeds.

Don't spend the 77p all at once......

I bought the Kindle book but since I had to go through the US website it cost me about 3 euro. That's about one minute of flying time for me, so your book better be captivating for more than a minute!

3 euros! That's awful. It should be 99 cents plus VAT if your country has it. From Spain, it is $1.19 for me, I think. Not that I would be buying up my own book or anything.

Anyway, I'm more than happy to share the book with PPRuNe members. I've learned so much here (ranging from basic flying issues to analysing accident reports to how NOT to approach sensitive subjects) that I'm really glad that for once I can put something back in.

If you want to support my noodle habit, telling a friend about the book is the most helpful thing you can do. But I'm really just crazy-happy that you all are interested and so many of you have enjoyed the read.

Well, it was worth the money anyway.

This is the Amazon page with the $3.44 quoted. I don't know how the arrangement between you and Amazon works, but if this is not the intended price, I suggest you take it up with Amazon:

You Fly Like a Woman

Thanks Sylvia. Just enjoyed reading (as airfield is currently waterlogged ). Your comments about reaching Gibraltar reminded me of when I did my IMC rating in a week from Faro, and the cross-country was to Gibraltar ending with a PAR. I criss-crossed Portugal all week without seeing anything - and then one day I took the foggles off to see the Rock as I landed!

Lot to be said for intensive training!

Best regards
