I just got my PPL last month and remeber the Nav test well. Couldn't find the AD of origin for about 15 minutes !
Watch out that you use the correct magnetic deviation area on the chart if its an unfamiliar part of the counrty. I suggest to use the 'Wind Down' method as I was never confident that I would add on the correction reiteration in the other method. The rest is down to luck or a good break. Use 2b pecil on the wind wheel and dry wipe pens in the chart for accuracy. Just take it on the chin and don't let it get you down. Good luck mate.

Yes, I did. I used to work for 'Young Barnes' - Barnes Wallis junior. I thought it was interesting that they thought the Lancaster was claustrophobic - the Wimpy was much smaller although I think the bomb load was > than a Flying Fortress. As an ex RAF navigator I found the effect of the wind speed error at ground level was fascinating. A first class programme.
