JAA PPL-A REvalidation in Germany

Can I be revalidated by an accredited Instructor/Examiner in Germany or do the CAA insist on it being through an examiner on its 'books'?

I would hope the whole point of JAA harmonisation would mean its perfectly acceptable practice ...

You can certainly revalidate using local instructors & examiners, but the CAA may want some proof that the signature on the paperwork belongs to a bona fide examiner.

If I was you I would send an email to FCL asking them to clarify their requirements: fclweb at caa.co.uk

I've got a UK issued JAA PPL and always revalidate using Dutch examiners.

Of course the CAA doesn't know these examiners, so I always make a copy of the examiners license/authorization and send it along with the rest of the paperwork. Works just fine.
