There's a B series Shadow in Eire with a 582 on it, which every year or so re-emerges and somebody tries to put it on the UK reg - with no success. The D series uses a 582, but only by virtue of a stiffer wing that can safely fly faster.

The B series / C series wing won't take the extra power, because Section S requires an aircraft to not be able to achieve more than 79% Vne in level flight.

B series converted to C series - footwell, slipper tank, streamlined struts, etc - goes pretty well with a 503. Trade-off passenger-weight/fuel, with two-up.
Shadow Flight Centre, Old Sarum, have all the gen. Used to sell conversion kits

Thumbs up

Hi there
Many thanx for the gen.Genghis,I'd love to know the reg of that Irish Shadow.I'll try the Shadow Centre and see what they can come up with. It'll probably be a 503,if the early airframe can't take a 582.
thanks again

Frankly the 503 is cheaper, more reliable, easier to fix and less complicated than a 582 anyway.
