DA40 TDi operating altitudes

The POH says "maximum restart altitude 6500ft" (due to the fact the turbo won't be spinning). Does anyone know if this therefore precludes operating the aircraft out of any airport with >6500ft pressure altitude?

Very odd, the POH Supplement for C172 states (for both TAE 125-01 and TAE 125-02 engines) that it is possible to restart engines below 13000 ft, which is probably similar in normal non-turbo Avgas aircraft engine. Also, the DA40 TDI POH provides takeoff data for up to 10000 ft pressure altitude, so I think it assumes the engine can be started at that elevation.

Too bad Diamond doesn't have amplified normal & emergency procedures in their POHs, like Cessna or Piper have where one could actually understand what was manufacturer thinking when writing the checklists.

Interesting question. Might be worth asking it in the Diamond Aviators Net forum where you are more likely to find someone with such specialised knowledge. It doesn't cost anything to join.
