Hangarage Wanted

Don't laugh: does anyone have or know of space in a hangar close to London, preferably to the north, north west or north east. I'm looking to house a Cap10 (which is quite small). All enquiries at the busier fields have drawn blank so far, but I wonder if there is a private strip with a shack on it somewhere.

drop me a note - not sure that I can help but have a couple of ideas - all depends how far out of London you'd be prepared to keep it.
Sweet aeroplane - flew one in France with an excellent aero instructor a couple of years back - probably need to go back again now!

Try Bill Bowker at Rush Green on 01438 355051. Although the hangar is quite full, he does have a separate small hangar which has just been vacated by an RV6A.
Rush Green is a 550m grass strip South of Hitchin, not too bumpy with 100LL available. To find it on your chart, look under the Luton zone!

Thanks for your help. Since posting the request the possibility of a space at Booker has come up, but I will also look into the other options. Stiknruda: I'll email you.
LownSlow: I wonder if that RV6A is the one a friend has recently bought and which is now stuck in the mud at his farmstrip in Shropshire (strip temporarily obstructed by Sea Hurricanes).
Thanks again.

North Weald was full last time I asked (about 5 months ago) with no sign of change in the near future.
PPS are suppose to be building a new hangar at High Wycombe but it will be very expensive (£230 / month) plus THEY like to do the maintenance on YOUR aeroplane (not much good for PFA types).
Good Luck

Rush Green has a semi-resident engineer plus the owner is an engineer and ex-RN pilot who used to fly a few of the Shuttleworth aircraft. They are experienced in a wide variety of aircraft but especially the wood / tube and fabric taildragging variety.
As an extra bonus, their rates are very competetive.
By the way, I just rent hangar space there, I'm nothing to do with the running of the place, just appreciate a good airfield.

Low n slow public transport and JAR 145 are not the same thing as the company has to be aproved for JAR 145 and the engineer may not have a licence but a company authorisation.
I think it was better when the engineers had to be licenced by the CAA as it dont take long for the tea boy to get a limited and simple authorisation bu you can bet that you will still pay licenced engineer rates.

THanks for that A and C.
FNG, I've just spoken to the owner and at the moment they have no space. However a Rheims Rocket that is currently there is due to move shortly and a space will be available. If you drop Bill Bowker a line on 01438 355051 then he will let you know when the space is free.
Unfortunately, the maintenance is for Private C of A and PFA types only I'm afraid.
