Denmark Airfields

Planning a trip to Denmark, can anyone recommend any small airfields that offer cheap landing and overnight parking?

Just starting to look it all up and thought it would be worth posting a quick question from others experiences and recommendations.

Tonder

I'd recommend Tondor (EKTD), just north of the border with Germany. It's useful for filing / closing flight plans etc. I've stopped in their club house a couple of times. Hotels in town, about 20 minutes walk away. They also let us hangar the aeroplanes during very windy weather.

Stauning (EKVJ) is also worth a visit, as there's an interesting museum on site.

I'd recommend Ærø - not just to prove I know how to type it, but it is a nice freindly field in a pleasant location.
Tønder and Stauning I'd also second. They used to all be cheap Avgas, but I gather the tax rules have changed now.

Airfields and Aerodromes
Here you'll see most of the airfields.
I think some of the most interesting sites is the small islands.
Endelave is indeed very nice and is 50dkk (app. 5£). There is also Samsø, Anholt, Læsø, Femø etc.
Stauning is also interesting for the museeum.
Heard that Wyk auf Föhr in Germany just before crossing the border to Denmark should also be nice.
To really avoid is only Copenhagen Kastrup. Most other airfields are normally around 10£, even the larger like Billund and Århus Tirstrup.
You could try posting on the Danish Pilots.dk - Den danske luftfartsportal. You will for sure get a lot of hints to nice places.
pm me if you need specific info on something.

Anholt Airfield is very expensiv - dkk 250 below 1.199 KG and dkk 500 above 1.199 KG. No overnight fees. But in July the island is fantastic, that is if the sun i shining - if its raining then its a bit bvaadr... - and there is nice restaurants, a camping spot just behind the beach and two nice bed & breakfasts. But book upfront and do it now. ANHOLT.DK - et paradis midt i Kattegat

Roskilde, ekrk, is a cab (dkk 150) away from the train station from which it takes 22 minutes before you arrive in central Copenhagen next to Tivoli. Landing fee dkk 85 and overnight is app. dkk 50 pr night.

Other option is Groenholt, north of Copenhagen. Landing fee cheap if below 1.199 KG, a bit pricy if you are above. Overnight is the same as Roskilde. It's a 10 minut walt from the train and then its a 45 minutes ride into central Copenhagen. Theres a Bed & Breakfast with pool at the airfield and its located rather close to Kronborg Castle (Hamlet) and Fredensborg Castle.CMS

Luxury island to fly to must be Vejroe - very unspoiled nature with gourmet restaurant, amazing huge play ground for kids, tennis court, lots of wild animals, private chef, a food store and three rentable houses with an interior that looks like a five star luxury hotel. Downside is the price - a house (2-7 persons) is app dkk 1800-2500 pr night. The airfield is 600 m grass. But see more at VEJRØ

Stauning's worth the trip just to see the deflection on the NDB because of the lagoon/ spit off shore.

Major fields like Billund are still quite cheap compared to the UK and you can enjoy a short walk into town and legoland from the GA side.

Also quite interesting is a visit to the castle of egeskov.dk, because they have their own landing strip. You just park your airplane for free upfront & visit the castle were they have a nice collection of cars, motor cycle & a lot of other stuff. The lunch is great to....
Not far away you have also Aero, which is a very nice green island with a lot of history. There you can enjoy golf, cycling or rent a car allowing you to visit the entire islands. The airfield is managed by a very nice family, who will give you a warm welcome & help you were they can.
