Google Earth as flight planning tool
GE strikes me as a good tool for getting a visual preview of a forthcoming flight, but for one thing. I can't seem to find a way of accurately mapping and tracking a route, in deg.T or otherwise; only the basic cardinal points appear to be offered. Is there some way of doing this that I may have overlooked?
Thanks in anticipation.

Yep....PocketFMS/ will do exactly this for you.
You prepare your flight plan in PFMS, and then export your route to Google Earth. You can now see your route, all your turning points, and even your altitude.
I found it very useful when planning my first trip to Switzerland last year. It allowed me to easily visualise how much ground clearance I would have over the mountainous bits...much easier trying to get a vertical profile from a paper chart.
There is a free 30 day trial on the site, it you'd like to see how it works.
