Shoreham Airport Centenary Fly-In
I've just discovered there is a fly-in planned here the weekend of 17/18 July: SHOREHAM AIRPORT CENTENARY FLY-IN JULY 17th - 18th 2010 What amazes me though is considering Shoreham is 100 years old this year, there is no mention of it on the airports website, plus it appears that it is not open to the general public even from a spectators point of view! Does anyone know who is organising it, as it can't be the airport? I can understand they may not want visitors airside for the usual reasons, but to make it a private event does seem rather pointless to me, considering the importance of their year! Patrick

There are some - ahem! Local Difficulties in the vicinity of Brighton at the mo, so bear with them. I'm sure all will be OK in the end.
Shoreham has a long and illustrious history that deserves to be celebrated widely. I wish the place well during its present problems.

Sadly, I'm somehow suspicious of this website.
Because there has been no reference of it on the official airport website, I honestly hope it hasn't been set up by an underground organisation attempting to capture personal information.
Worst case scenario - you find the event doesn't happen and your aircraft stolen from your hangar!

According to SHOREHAM AIRPORT CENTENARY FLY-IN JULY 17th - 18th 2010 this event has been cancelled/postponed. Still no mention on the Airport website of the Fly-In which I do find very strange.
