I'll eventually upgrade the EDM for that, RPM, %power, etc.
I doubt those parameters are worth anything, because the EDM cannot see the required data to get accurate HP. The only time you can estimate HP from fuel flow is if you are peak-EGT or LOP.

Fuel flow totalising is wonderful though. So far away from the silly fuel tank gauges...

The EDM 800 uses manifold pressure and rpm as well as fuel flow in it's HP calculation.

OK, to work out HP from MP, fuel flow, rpm, you need to know the engine type - at least in certain generic terms.

Is there a config for the engine model?

I know the G1000 systems in say the SR22 or the Cessna 400 display the HP and more to the point also display the leaning targets, but they obviously are dedicated systems configured for that aircraft.

The EDM800 has a programme mode for setting a HP-constant so the display is matched to the specific aircraft installation. It's shown in section 8 of the pilot's guide here: Documentation | J.P. Instruments
