I enjoy flying when it's cold. The performance is soooo much better at -20 Dress to survive, 10 minutes flying is 10 hours walking if the snow is deep. (not much of an issue in the uk i guess)

Clear ALL ice off the aircraft before flight
Can you use normal car de-icer on the airframe or is this a bad idea?

Never given that a thought to be honest, but you'd need to check the ingredients to see if it will damage the paintwork or the perspex.

Lovely time of year to go flying if the Wx permits.
