Gran Canaria
I am in Gran Canaria at the moment, without my PPL but I'd like to do some flying.
Does anyone know of a flying school or rental with preferably a PA28 or else a similar plane for a jolly around the island? (I should have researched it first....I know, sorry.)
Thx

I was in Gran Canaria yesterday with my license, for once, so we could have rented a plane together for a few hours. Unfortunately I've left already and I'm not due back for another five weeks, in principle.
I would however be interested to hear what you might find. I did see a PA28 or something very similar fly overhead Las Palmas yesterday evening. There was a thread in the Spanish forum about small plane hire in Tenerife about a month ago, which included some telephone numbers.

Hi Slopey
Indeed at the Aero Club of Gran Canaria there are both a PA 280 180 and an Arrow for rent.
The runway is tarmac with some indentations but god surface. Careful of winshear on short finals!
Thx all,

I'll spend a week in the sun (hopefully!) in early November 2009. And I even have Mrs f's approval to spent a day at the airfield and go flying...!

Flying with the Real Aeroclub de Gran Canaria
Well, I spent this week in Gran Canaria and I had a wonderful time!
The island has a lot to offer, not just the hordes of drunks and/or sunburnt in Playa del Ingles. For example, there's the nice little airfield El Berriel (GCLB) with the Real Aeroclub de Gran Canaria. Flying can be tricky there due to a complicated wind system around it, but it's definitely worth a try! http://www.aeroclubgrancanaria.com/
May I annoy you with a few of my holiday pics:
