New styles TAF's

I just picked up some new style TAF's today and at first was confused by all the extra numbers. Managed to work out they now add a two digit date to the time span, eg:

LONDON/HEATHROW EGLL 061059Z 0612/0718 20008KT 7000 BKN012 BECMG 0612/0615 BKN025 PROB40 0612/0620 9999 PROB30 0621/0704 4000 BR TEMPO 0704/0708 4000 RA BKN008 BECMG 0708/0710 9999 SCT030

Don't think I've hassled anyone. Sorry, no offence meant, just taking a very gentle swipe at non-standard use of the apostrophe.

Why would aviation be more resistant to the change in the use of the apostrophe to indicate plural's than the rest of the world? I dont see the connection.

Personally, I dont find it all that hard to adopt these change's.

I think it is called the street trader's apostrophe or something like that, because they are supposed to be illiterate. In English, the plural of a TAF is TAFs, not TAF's.

I do think that the apparent precision in something like a 6-line long TAF is illusory. It will be no better (in terms of timing, at least) than looking at the MSLP charts.

Freda, no offence taken, I often pull people up for spelling/grammar mistakes! Exactly the same thing happened on another forum yesterday, hence my post. Still haven't got round to reading Eats Shoots & Leaves yet!

I guess I type more about people in the third person than I do about plural objects, hence the slip.

You're not Welsh are you - that might work?

I read hundreds of NOTAMs at work and was surprised this one was missed.
