Thanks for advice

Thanks to all for good advice. I've taken on board and will explore any refund policy as I do know there are only two C152's for training at the moment and any maintenance/loss of instructors etc could affect progress. I'll also do a credit check. However, other feedback re:the particular school on this forum is very good so all being well, my feeling is that the risk is more than balanced by the benefit. After doing the above research, if the school should go belly up less than 10hrs into any installment then this would be unfortunate though not a show stopper. Do many people fail their Class 2 medical? I haven't organised this yet though assumed I'd be ok as have had numerous (some fairly intensive) medicals during employment to date with nothing untoward reported. Thanks again and hopefully see you all at an airfield some time soon......

The Class 2 medical is pretty straight forward really, not unlike 'fairly intensive' work medicals, unless you have something severely wrong with you, there should be no problem apart from the price! I originally had to go twice for the Class 2, only because of an onset of the Flu I had the first time around so my Temperature and Blood Pressure were sky high!

Its just contains the usual stuff... eyes... ears... heart... breathing... etc etc. They had a look downstairs too which always comes as a bit of a shock!!

Pay by credit card if you must pay up front. You would be protected if the school went bust and be able to claim the amount back from your credit card company.

And ALWAYS shop around oh and look out for any hidden clauses such as cancellation charges
