Cranfield Club Recommendations
Having been a PPL for a number of years, I have just moved over to Bedford and wondered if anyone had recommendations of a club at Cranfield for SEP private hire?

Flyteam aviation are (I think) the cheapest over there. Did my PPL with them. Very honest and up front guy who own's the company and the instuctor go me through my ppl with a first time pass.
www.flyteam.com is their website.
They have 2x PA28's 1x C150 1xC172 and 2xPA28 Arrows......
Get a credit card or loan set up for the landing fee's though, I flew in to Cran in a friend's C172 last week and had to pay £37 landing fee....Ouch!!!

I fly with Bonus Aviation www.bonusaviation.co.uk.
Amongst the fleet are 5 x PA38s and 3 x PA28-181s. Very friendly.

Alternatively . . . .
Assuming you don't mind somewhere a little more 'rustic', you could also consider Little Gransden (grass) or Bourne (tarmac) to the East of Bedford, it really depends upon what sort of airfield you prefer.
The route from Bedford to Cranfield on the A421 can be very congested, as can Cranfield airside with all the commercial training going on. On the plus side, the restaurant/cafe seems to have improved a good bit of late. There are also a couple of 'escape routes' off the A421 via Wootten (apols for spelling) to the north, which take you through country lanes if you get tired of the juggernauts!
Hope you find something which fits the bill!

I also recommend Bonus Aviation. I currently fly with them and im very happy. I'm upgrading to a JAR PPL (Currently have an NPPL) My instructor is Ron Wall and hes one of the nicest pilots i've ever met.
To add to the fleet of tomahawks and PA-28's they also have 2 C150's (G-BIFY and G-BDOW)

Can't fault Billins Air Services. Great people, good aircraft, good availability, and the kettle's always on and there's always biscuits in the tin!
Visit them all and see which one you feel most at home at.
