Size Matters!

I'm looking for someone with a Jodel 1050 I can sit in. I'm thinking of buying one but at 6 feet 5 I need to be able to fit in one. if anyone within a sensible distance of Romford has one and could help out that would be great.
I fancied an Se5 replica but I gather I will never fit!

Jodel 1050s vary.

I've been a share owner in 3 Jodel 1050s, and they all had different widths of cockpit, They also varied in head clearance when the seat was adjusted for my leg length. The present SAN early model is the tightest. An early CEA model had the most room.
Not fitting in one doesn't mean you won't fit in a different one, and vice versa.
The seats go lower as they slide back, so your leg:trunk ratio affects the available headroom.

Size

Thanks for that. I was beginning to think I would never find anything to fit. I was heartbroken to find the SE5 replica was too small. Dad being 6 feet 6 sort of gave a clue as to my eventual size!

1050

Thanks for that. I might take you up on that if I don't get a nearer offer.

6'3" and found a jodel 120 a bit uncomfortable. Couldn't sit up properly.

The DR200 series jodels have similar cabin dimensions to the DR400 Robins and offer noticably more space than the DR1050. Unfortunately there aren't too many around and they won't be annexed onto the permit system (not yet at least).

Compared to the DR1050 the DR220 is more spacious, but needs a bit more runway for take-off and landing. As a 2 seat plus luggage it's fine. The DR221 has another 15HP so overcomes some of that. A DR250 will cruise 4-up at upto 120 knots with reasonable field performance.

I once demo'd the DR1050 to a prospective buyer and his wife who were both 6' plus. They decided it was too much of a squeeze for comfort.
