Rochester
I visited Rochester for the first time today. I was blown away by how good they were.
It was my first land away at an airfield I had never visited with anybody else before. Even though I've had my license for almost a year I am still very inexperienced and green around the ears. The helpfulness of the ATC and welcome they provided was great.
They were overworked in the tower but still had time to help a newbie about the place and even though I taxi'd to the wrong location (even managed to do it twice!) they were still really helpful and friendly.
Highly, highly, recommended. Thanks for making the first land away so easy I REALLY appreciate it.
I was also amazed to see such an array of aircraft ready for departure, much richer than the usual PA28 \ C172 mix.
