You can add Southend to that list.

Please ADD Lydd to the list - we don't need your kind

New thread that names and shames airfields that demands pilots wear High Viz vests airside

Why?

You can add list to the list Lydd - quite frankly if your if your not interested in a high Viz vest then we can do without you.

Does it harm you ? or is it that you feel that you don't look cool ? - even if it prevents one incident / accident in 5 years it's a small price to pay.

Please give me a compelling reason why you feel the need not to ware one?

Name us and shame us - shame us for imposing a safety related rule ?

Are pilots magically more visible than anybody else on the apron - if so how ?

A boycott of airfields that require you to invest £3.99 in a safety item that may someday save yours or somebody elses life... HAHAHAHAHA!!!

You've probably just spent £200+ to hire the A/C and £20 on lunch but wont cough up the price of a pint and crisps...

Well I agree that in certain places it's probably wise to wear a high viz jacket for self preservation purposes (motorways), but unless you are deaf, blind and stupid enough to be walking around an airfield and oblivious as to what dangers lie out there, then wearing the said hi viz waste of time isn't going to prevent idiots from hurting themselves.

I consider myself a fairly typical pilot who can see a stupid rule, and even I'm clever enough to realise when i'm about to be run over by an aeroplane, and tend to move for my own safety. Being forced to wear a highly flammable, static inducing plastic jacket by some jobsworth only makes me resist even more. Why not wear an orange flashing light on one's head??

Thats why people are against it, and if Lydd require one, then I don't need to go to Lydd. I always considered it the compost heap at the end of the Garden of England anyway!
