Track Correction Error

Hi All,

Does this work for correcting track error?

Angle to Destination

= fraction of journey (i.e. ½) turned around (i.e. 2/1)
multiplied by Track Angle Error

I.e. if half way and 6 degrees of track: 6 x 2 = 12 degrees (takes you to destination)

or if quarter of the way and 5 degrees of track, 5 x 4 = 20 degrees? (takes you to destination)

The latter doesn't seem correct but is what's written in a book I'm studying...

It's fraction of journey "inverted" multiplied by closing angle to go direct to destination.

That's what I mean...

So if you're only a quarter of a way there, it would be TE x 4?

Not quite - it would be 4 X "Closing angle" - ie the angular displacement from track measured from the destination end of track.
