A genuine but simple question
Guys
This does sound a stupid question, but could anyone describe the process whereby owners of aircraft on the G-register are notified of ADs.
Are we expected to know of any ADs affecting our aircraft, or does the CAA write to us?

The CAA will write to the address on its G-reg database.
Also, any UK maintenance shop should be on a data subscription and there are several of these, offering not only maintenance manuals but also a list of SBs and ADs on a CD, etc. So when you take the plane in for a service, the shop should already have a list of all applicable ADs.

Thanks for that
The reason I asked is that I have just seen an indication of an AD affecting my a/c with an 'effective date' of some months ago and a limitation of 50 hours from that date. However, I haven't yet seen the original

Worth mentioning that a G-reg is subject to
- CAA ADs
- EASA ADs
- ADs issued by the manufacturer of any part of the plane even if not one of the above
The reference for this requirement is in CAA CAP411 5.1 All applicable Airworthiness Directives issued by EASA, the CAA and any applicable Third Country Airworthiness Authority which is responsible for the state of design must be complied with.
