Hi J.A.F.O. I have at the moment an email from her to say that I have permission . I was not happy about that so I have requested a hard copy of it which I am awaiting. I am not sure whether a hard copy would automatically be sent but she did inform me that she was going on holiday and correspondance would be slow! Will keep you posted, I do have some anecdotal evidence of people having permission for France and Germany but till now nothing solid!
John.

That's very irresponsible. I wouldn't even fly with a cold or stomach upset, never mind angina!
Sorry Vectorline but quite legal and with my GP's blessing.
Suggest you'd better not drive on the roads either as plenty of people with angina (and suspected angina) are driving on a road near you!
In my case I'd had the symptoms for 10 years plus and my then GP said not a problem but current GP felt another check up warranted, hence the angina scare.
Cardiologist said no heart problems and symptoms are a "phenomenom" (I got that in writing). So no plummeting from a piece of sky near you either VL.
As for flying with a cold or stomach upset, I learnt that flying to high with a cold can be painful in the ears and sinuses, years ago, so I keep to 2000ft max and flying with guts ache only means you nead a bag to barf into or some air freshener, if the "other end" is affected.
Now, pilots who fly uninsured, out of licence currency, no current medical and in aircraft with expired CofA/Permit, are the ones who should be worrying about!

The FISO then said "Between the bollards on your right" - and we saw a very gucci little low wing aeroplane into which 2 people were strapping themselves in! One of the latest technology types, I think it was a Eurostar?
Those of us who fly 30 year old Spamcans fitted with combine harvester engines of the 1950s would do well to look at the new breeds of microlight, such as these. Although you do need to look carefully at the available load....
Why not contact the BMAA for advice? Several of their members are of less than racing snake dimensions, so they might be able to suggest a suitable aircraft for you?
For years I owned a CFM Shadow microlight but kept my SEP current as well.
This Summer I bit the bullet and splashed out £40K on a one year old Eurostar and mentally let go of the idea that I should keep my SEP in case I wanted to take more than one passenger.
My Eurostar has a large lump of capital tied up in it but aside from that the running costs are negligable for a 100 mph (500 mile range) microlight. Insurance is £1,000 / year and hangarage £600 / year. As a virtually brand new aircraft there is little or maintenance and fuel is unleaded mogas at forecourt prices - burning 10 litres/hour cruise (12 litres / hour overall).
Yes there are comromises with legal weight issues but I honestly now see no further point in maintaining SEP currency - so I am allowing it to go.
