PPL(A) Syllabus - where can it be found?
Does anybody know where I can get an official copy of the PPL(A) syllabus, detailing all the exercises?
Have looked and searched on the CAA website, but can only find details of the helicopter syllabus.
Many thanks

The above link is for the skills test, not the PPL course, though it's jolly useful anyway.
As far as I'm aware, each training organisation has to draw up its own syllabus for the PPL, which must obviously meet the JAR requirement (JAR FCL 1.125).
I've found the NPPL syllabus:
http://www.ontrackaviation.com/nppl%...0sep%20(A).pdf
This is 95% the same as the JAR syllabus. Otherwise, Jeremy Pratt's excellent Volume 1, available from AFE, will cover what you require I think.
Found something else too - not from JAR FCL directly but seems to be a copy of it and should answer your questions:

Most flying clubs seem to use the AOPA syllabus as an approved acceptable means of compliance with the JARs. You've probably noticed that the official publications available on-line (ANO, JARs, LASORS etc) only specifythe mandated minimum requirements, test standards etc.
The AMCs are not on-line, but available at a price, as they provide a revenue stream for the JAA.
The documents mentioned above give a pretty good breakdown of the exercises. The AOPA syllabus document gives a breakdown of the time spent on the different exercises.
