Who would be up for it and when???

Wot about something not quite so far south? Preferably north of London.

Like Old Warden or Henlow or North Weald or Panshangar?

Oban seems a good idea - perhaps in July or August (my preference would be for a weekday - though I realise it might not be to everyone's taste).

Presumably nothing to preclude a northerner going to the southern venue, or vice versa?

We could put a call in to ATC at Liverpool / Manchester / Leeds / Doncaster / Humberside to be on the look out for undesirables on northerly / southerly headings to prevent any such activity!

How about Tatenhill as a mid-point?

Aug / Sept would be a good time.

I am thinking more like mid-July.

A north London fly-in sounds good. Any of them mentioned by Dub there and any other suggestions welcome.

Out of the ones listed here, where would you like to go?

Please say here where you would like to go and after a week we can see where is most popular...

Anyone do a good BBQ in mid-July?????????

Sleap, Tatenhill, Caernarfon or Oban are all on my list as places.

Perhaps we should talk dates quite quickly, as availability on my aircraft seems to have reduced somewhat since the sun appeared and I guess others may have the same problem.

BRL Suggested mid July.

I would suggest mid-August to give more than four weeks notice. So I therefore propose Sat 20th August (Sun 21st as the "wx alternate")

How about a good international flyout?

Waterford Airport are having a BBQ on the 15 July. An opportunity for some to learn about flight plans, GAR forms, and international flights.....it's all really easy, and great fun

I instruct on helicopters at Tatenhill on Saturdays. You can all book yourselves in for trial lessons if you like.

Fly-in Venue

May I suggest Hollym - near Withernsea, Hull. Pub at the end of the strip, grass, easy to find (just follow the north bank of the Humber until it meets the sea, then land. OTR VOR is only a few miles away...

Hi BRL

I'm up for it.

If everyone decides when and where and i'll pop along

If nobody can decide i'll host it at my place.
Sadly however, non-conventional geared a/c are disallowed by my local planning authorities.....

Hear! Hear! Grand plan for a Southern venue. However, I seem to recall certain Cloud varieties being afforded honorary contemporary gear status, but I'll leave that with you.

I do agree with BRL in that a northern one is also a good idea...whether at the same time is up to him and sponsors.

I'll bow out now, for the common good
