Weekend Weather

Just looking at weather web sites for predictions for this weekend and they all show this symbol...

Does anyone know what it means?

I would doubt all useful aviation weather sites would use the BBC symbol, but it's been a while since we saw clear blue skies and sunshine

Lets hope for a decent season this year

Dammit, I'm sure I've seen it before somewhere. Too long ago, you've got me.

Embarrassing, I'm sure I should know what it means from somewhere.

I seem to remember it meant "Avoid Wellesbourne", or something like that.

Its a state sponsored ploy to get you through the week at work. Take another look tomorrow midday, then Friday midday, and then get the METARs and TAFs on Saturday AM and finally give up and go to Ikea / B&Q (Well, it is Easter weekend, what better place could there be to go to??)

I think that's a sort of windmill/fan symbol. It means sunshine and a clear blue sky with the wind blowing at 30 knots straight across the runway.

Isn't it a road/ traffic jam alert for the weekend??
Usually found on the Southern weather maps...

No...its....

You are all wrong.

If you've got a fancy bells and whistles SatNav its actually a cogwheel and you'll find it at the head of the queue you are in.

Money's on a 1975 Pikey Transit truck - buggered gearbox - towing a very heavy (stolen at some time - obviously) chrome caravan.

Looking forward to flying over the jams. I'm driving nowhere.

Its the new chart symbol for an ATZ where Hi-Viz vests are compulsory.
