Chippy in Emergency Landing on Beach

Anyone heard anything about a chippy having engine failure and carrying out a forced landing on Prestwick beach on Sat 25 Feb?

That is correct and both pilots and the aircraft are fine (apart from the engine of course). It is back at engineering now. Its the second such incident at Pik, another Chippy landed on the beach just last year with engine problems.

Obviously a dangerously unreliable aircraft - was it a new one ??

Glad the outcome was a happy one and glad it didn't happen in high summer when 3 or 4 people might have been on the beach in question
