Yes it is.

The green A framed building in the middle is the studio (note: no big TOP GEAR logo on the roof as shown on the opening titles), and the last 2 corners of the track can be seen where the taxiway leaves the runway. Just infront of the red brick building to the left, you can just make out the start/finish line which is the faint white splodge on the ground.

Cheers for the comment Cessnasey - I'll pass it onto my friend when I see him in about an hour. He is also a pilot too, but on these occasions, I was flying and he was happy to shoot pics out of the window as he doesn't usually get chance to when he is flying.

It's a Canon 10D (or is it D10 ??) with a 100-400mm lense with image stabilizer. Cost him around £3000 for the whole lot.

You can get them pretty cheap now on ebay, around £300 for the body and £800 for the lense or the new Cannon EOS350D does more or less the same job for much less - brand new they are about £800 IIRC with a 50mm and a 300mm lense although it isn't as good as the 100-400 - you will still get very good results.

Hi Leezyjet and Cessnasey,

I'm the mystery photographer!

The camera I use is a Canon EOS 10D and a 100-400mm lens with Image Stabiliser as Lee said. Spot on with the cost, was about £3000 total. It's an awesome piece of kit - perfect for aerial or air-air photography. (I've got used to flying a C172 with the door off recently - a truly hair raising experience to start with )

It all works very well especially with the Image Stabiliser attached to a quality camera when you're bouncing around all over the place at low level and you need a steady, sharp shot.

BRL, the mountain picture (http://www.fl400.com/Algoa/pages/IMG_9752.htm) is real - no photoshop effects, just the basic crop, resize, rotate. No funny business. South Africa really is an amazing flying experience. The full album for Leezyjet's and my trip is at: www.FL400.com/Algoa

Pictures from our 3 trips around London are here: http://www.FL400.com/Blackbushe (too many to post on this thread)

More of my own flying in my trusty TB-10 below...

Climbing out from Le Touquet one fine evening

Crossing the English Channel, approaching Dover

Bembridge Airport on the most perfect day of the year

The Needles on the Isle of Wight

Coming home from the IOW one evening

An inversion during a winter high pressure system over Essex

Sunrise while approaching Dublin

South Africa

Perhaps humour is lost on me, (it nearly always is!) or im just stupid
But i thought that there was only one road bridge, the suspension bridge and the cantilever is the rail bridge??
Perhaps this is one of them times when i should keep my mouth shut?

Edit, HA! i get it now! My god im slow!

Sorry, ill get my coat and leave
